Tricon Acquires New Titles for Factual Slate

Toronto-based distributor Tricon Films & Television has added three series and two one-offs to its factual and lifestyle slate.

Construction shows Decked Out (13x30') and Decked Out Challenge (4x60') follow the overhaul of a backyard and construction of a deck with host Paul Lafrance. Both come from Architect Films and are set to air on HGTV Canada this spring.

From Sugar Rush Entertainment and NAPPIC Cinema comes Livin' Loud (12x30'), billed as a character-driven reality travel show in which two men and two women hit the road in search of extreme adventures. It debuted recently on MTV Australia and New Zealand.

Tricon has also picked up hour-long shows Corpus and Racing Around the World Alone. In the former, host Connie Diletti looks at non-traditional disposal of dead bodies (such as cryonics and being shot into space), while the latter follows 30 skippers as they sail solo around the world on 60ft boats. The specials are produced by Corpus Film Company and Wind Athletes Canada, respectively.
